Tom Hover has been a member of the Philadelphia Modifiers since 1987. He previously held the office of President and Secretary for two terms each and now holds the position of Club Advisor. He owns a 1937 Ford Humpback Sedan powered by a 350 Chevy with a 350 Chevy Trans and a 9-inch Rear. His Ford was bought as a stock car in 1987 and was converted into a Street Rod and painted in 1997 by past members Bill and Scott McGhee. Tom had mentioned to Bill that he always wanted a V8 powered Triumph. When Tom was 17, he had a 1963 Triumph TR4. He knew a guy who hung at Gino’s on Frankford Avenue and Magee Avenue in Philadelphia who had a 1964 Triumph TR4 with a 327 in it, which only took 55 years to build. Tom attributes Bill McGhee for making it happen, and jokes that “building this car was way above my pay grade!”

Dave Rudan Jr.

Dave Jr. found his car in a barn in Perkasie, PA. It was a 6 cylinder with a power glide. He and his dad stripped the car down and had it media blasted and primered. From there, they installed Detroit Speed mini tubs, both quarters, rear taillight panel, trunk lid, and floors. They bought new doors and front-end sheet metal. After that was completed, they added an S&W 6-point roll bar and frame connectors. The engine is a 496 BBC and a th400 with reverse valve body going to a 9 inch Ford rear. To finish the car, they installed Wilwood disk brakes and Detroit Speed tubular control arms.
